When it comes to antioxidant protection, buckwheat is definitely a superstar. It has a large amount of flavonoids, especially rutin, a phytonutrient involved in increasing the action of vitamin C, and also phenols in a higher concentration than in other antioxidant-rich fruits or vegetables. Buckwheat offers protection from cardiovascular disease, lowers cholesterol, and diminishes the risk of chronic disease. Put it together with mixed berries to help increase its antioxidant protection, and to increase your intake of dietary fiber.Print
