Vegan Indian Spiced Baked Potato Wedges

Potato wedges can actually be a detox snack! If you choose to bake them instead of frying, and use nourishing spices to flavor them, you can obtain a nourishing snack to help your body during the detox process. Potatoes are an excellent source of potassium, an essential mineral your cells need for flushing out excess water, toxins, and to prevent excess sodium accumulation. They are also low in calories, high in fiber, and rich in vitamin B6 which your body needs to support its enzymatic activity. Turmeric and cumin not only add a delicious flavor, but enrich this snack with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Plus it has a gorgeous yellow color!

Vegan Indian Spiced Baked Potato Wedges

½ pound Yukon Gold potatoes or any other thin-skinned potato variety, cut into wedges shape

1 tsp ground turmeric

½ tsp ground cumin

¼ tsp powdered ginger

2 tsp coconut oil

A pinch sea salt

Freshly ground black pepper



Preheat the oven to 175°C/347°F.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and add the potato slices. 

Add turmeric, cumin, salt and freshly ground black pepper, drizzle with coconut oil and toss to coat evenly.

Roast for 40 minutes, until golden and crispy.

Remove from the oven and serve warm.
