Vegan Chocolate Almond Energy Balls

Do afternoons often find you tired and in need of an energy boost? These detox energy balls contain whole carbs with slow energy release and a good dose of raw cacao for your daily serving of magnesium for an extra boost of energy. Almonds contain manganese, copper and riboflavin, a fantastic mix for renewing your energy flow, by providing key minerals your body needs. Almond butter is also high in monounsaturated fat and the antioxidant vitamin E, a great combination for reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

Chocolate Almond Balls


  • Yield: 6-8 balls

Ingredients

1 cup rolled oats

2 tbsp raw almond butter

1 tbsp raw agave nectar

1 tsp coconut oil

2 tsp raw cacao plus extra for coating

 


Instructions

Add the rolled oats into a food processor and pulse to finely grind them.

Add the cacao, almond butter and agave nectar and process to obtain a sticky mixture.

Use your palms to shape little balls.

Add some cacao butter onto a plate then roll the balls over to coat them evenly.

Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
